Adjustable Firmness

The top comfort layers of the Onebed Original can be flipped to change the feel. Onebed's instructions are to unzip the cover and flip the top layers following the label: with memory foam on top the mattress has a medium feel, while placing Auralux foam on top creates a medium-firm feel. No tools are needed, and the cover then zips back up.

Five-Zone Support

Beneath the comfort layers is a charcoal-infused support foam divided into five zones. Onebed says softer zones cushion lighter areas such as the shoulders, while firmer zones provide extra reinforcement under heavier areas like the hips and lower back, keeping the spine aligned and reducing pressure points. Onebed also says the charcoal infusion naturally absorbs moisture and odours.

Temperature and Breathability

The cooling gel memory foam layer contains gel beads that Onebed says draw heat away from the body, and it says its Auralux foam does not trap body heat the way traditional memory foam does. Onebed states that the open-cell structure of the foams allows air to flow freely through the mattress, and the Tencel cover is described as breathable and moisture-wicking.

Motion Isolation

Onebed says the Original is designed with zero motion transfer, so movement stays where it happens. According to Onebed, if your partner shifts, gets up or jumps back into bed, you will barely feel a thing, and it describes the Original as a mattress that works just as well for two people as it does for one.

Edge Support

Onebed says the Original uses 10cm-wide bars of high-density, charcoal-infused foam around the perimeter to encase the comfort layers, which it says prevents sagging at the sides and makes it easier to sit or sleep near the edge. Every size of the Original is 28cm high, and all Onebed mattresses have a stated weight limit of up to 300kg.
